…at WEAG’s Intertwined Family Next Steps event on Thu., May 23rd…
• 150+ people gathered to explore their next step in caring for vulnerable kids.
• 10+ families saying ‘YES’ to foster care.
• 25+ families saying ‘YES’ to respite & wrap around care.
• Dozens more saying ‘YES’ to supporting social workers, birth families & mentoring.
What’s so exciting is that this isn’t a one church solution. Folks from churches all over Richmond gathered with us! Members of our local Social Services, child welfare agencies, charitable organizations & business leaders were also in the room as we look to develop a holistic solution to serving kids in care.
Events like last night are successful because of partnerships like the one we have developed with Virginia’s Kids Belong. This is work that we shouldn’t be doing alone! Let’s keep working together and watch how God will use us to impact the lives of children!
We are not all called to do the same thing, but we all can do something. What’s your something?
