Paul is urging Timothy to be proactive and take responsibility for his life and actions. We are called to be stewards of the life we have with all its complications (not some ideal). It is helpful to cultivate three conversation partners: two peers (one in a similar line of work and a second in a different line of work) and an older person (at least ten years older). Grace flowed between Timothy and Paul. Similarly, we need the support, wisdom, guidance, and encouragement that God brings to us through others. Who are your three conversation partners?
