Psalm 16:1 (NLT)
Keep me safe, O God for I have come to you for refuge.
This psalm is often referred to as “A Prayer of Messiah.” As you read through it, you will gain insight into the kinds of things Christ may have prayed as He walked the Via Delarosa—I will not be shaken; You will not abandon me; You are at my right hand (vs. 8). As Christ hung on the cross, He found strength by focusing on the “fulness of joy” (vs. 11) that waited at His Father’s right hand, and He thought about you and me, His “glorious ones” (vs. 3) with much delight! The Holy Spirit whispers to us today: The Lord is at your right hand, (vs 8) and He will not abandon His children (vs. 10). Do you hear Him?
