Hebrews 11:1-2 (MSG) The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd.
Crisis is common to man. We live in a fallen world and face challenges every day both small and large. But followers of Jesus have been given an instruction book and a personal guide to teach us how to overcome. Consider the heroes of the famed “faith chapter” of the Bible (Hebrews 11). What was the foundational secret of their success? Faith enabled them to access divine power every day—to rise above self-pity, push past the fear, step into new beginnings, resist discouragement, take advantage of opportunities, step over barriers, and fulfill their divine missions. Jesus said, “In this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer because I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). They crucified Him, but He rose from the dead! He sent to us the Holy Spirit to be our personal guide and teacher. Don’t let the present crisis destroy you. You have everything you need to overcome (2 Peter 1:3).
