DAILY DEVOTIONS – MONDAY AUGUST 24, 2020

Jeremiah 17:7 (NLT)  Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.

The past six months have been grueling on us in body,  soul,  and spirit.  Who knew that in August we would still be dealing with the pandemic?  (The Lord knew.)  How are we doing life these days?  Are we self-feeding in God’s Word?  Are we protecting ourselves from idolatries that take us off track from mission and calling?  This is a time to grow,  not shrink back or get lazy,  not a time to indulge the flesh.  But it takes determination,  setting our will to keep moving forward in faith and not fill our minds with worldly inputs each day.  We must keep spiritual practices in place so that we don’t get sidetracked into diversions that end up locking us into a cul-de-sac focused on distractions.  Did you read your Bible today?  Did you pray for someone today?  Did you share your faith or serve someone today?  The Gospel is not limited by Covid.  The Holy Spirit is working everywhere.  Join Him.
