DAILY DEVOTIONS – MONDAY MAY 23, 2022

Acts 1:4-5  Once when (Jesus) was eating with (the disciples), He commanded them, “Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift He promised, as I told you before…in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.

It was on the 50th day after Easter that the apostles were praying together in the Upper Room and the Holy Spirit descended on them, just as Jesus predicted.  (This year Pentecost Sunday is being celebrated on June 5.)  The Church was born in a powerful physical manifestation and each believer present was filled with the Holy Spirit to take the gospel of Jesus Christ into the whole world.  Jesus was clear in His orders for his followers to wait for supernatural empowerment.  He knew they would need divine enablement in every aspect of their mission.  We need the same enablement.  We are co-workers with Christ, called to share our testimonies of God’s amazing transforming power.  Every day, ask God for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit.  Then live with sensitivity to His leadership.  The work is not finished.  Have you shared your testimony with anyone lately?
