DAILY DEVOTIONS – SATURDAY FEBRUARY 12, 2022

Psalm 119:105 (NIV)

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.

There are various ways that God guides His people.  The word of God is the supreme criteria.  The Holy Spirit also guides us (Romans 8:14) in the diversity of His mysterious working (John 3:8) “whether in action (Luke 4:1) or in active inaction (Numbers 10:12).  God also guides His people through divine providence (I Samuel 9:1-17)—the ability of God to make all events perform His will and accomplish His purpose (Daniel 4:35; Psalm 75:5-7).  We find guidance as we engage  “personal integrity based in the principles of God’s Word (Proverbs 11:3).  Guidance can come through angels (Acts 8:26) who are “ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who will be heirs of salvation” (Hebrews 1:14).  He guides through signs (I Samuel 10:1-7), such as a supernatural phenomenon (Exodus 3:1-4), an event (Luke 17:26-30), or even a person who is ordained of God to be a token or symbol of some message He wishes to convey (Isaiah 8:18).  God guides His people through visions–whether as revelation for ministry (I Samuel 3:1; Proverbs 29:18; Lamentations 2:9, I Samuel 3:21) or for personal revelation (Genesis 15:1-21).  God also guides through dreams (Matthew 1:20—whether to an ungodly person to preserve a people (Genesis 41:1-57, 45:7-8) or to a godly man to warn of danger (Matthew 2:12-13, 22).  How marvelous is our God!
