DAILY DEVOTIONS – THURSDAY JUNE 24, 2021

Exodus 4:11-12 (NIV)  The Lord said to (Moses), “Who gave man his mouth?  Who makes him deaf or mute?  Who gives him sight or makes him blind?  Is it not I, the LORD?  Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”

When Moses objected to God’s call by pointing to his lack of eloquence and his inability to express himself adequately and fluently (“I am not eloquent” vs. 10), God responded by saying He was fully cognizant of Moses’  defects.  But they did not constitute a legitimate excuse for refusing to obey.  God equips those whom He calls.  We finish our prayers with: “Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory for ever and ever, Amen.”  Do we believe it?  Our power is never sufficient to accomplish anything of Kingdom value.  Yet, God chooses to manifest His power through us as we walk in obedience to Him.  And what remarkable fruit comes!  Jesus said, “Without me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).  But  “if a person remains in me and I in him, he or she will bear much fruit.”  This partnership with Christ is a great mission and each one of us has a role to play.  What is your objection?  Listen to God’s response.
