DAILY DEVOTIONS – TUESDAY NOVEMBER 2, 2021

Joshua 1:1 (NIV)  After the death of Moses, the Lord’s servant, the Lord spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant.

Moses, the great leader, was dead.  But Joshua had always been standing somewhere nearby Moses watching and learning and responding in faith to what he saw.  He had been Moses’  servant who, along with Caleb, believed God for victory when they had searched out the Promised Land (Numbers 14:6-10).  He had been on the scene in some of the most dramatic interactions between Moses and God:  “up the mountain of God” (Ex. 24:13), lingering at the Tent of Meeting (between God and Moses) after Moses departed from it (Ex. 33:11).  Joshua  “had the Spirit in him” (Numbers 27:18).  These characteristics qualified him to lead this enormous group of people into their Godly inheritance.  Who is watching you, studying your life of faith?  Who are YOU watching and learning from?  God has plans for each generation.  Lets stand close, link arms, and follow God together.  Why not send an email of appreciation to your mentor or mentee today?  Pray for them.
