DAILY DEVOTIONS – WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 29, 2021

Matthew 2:19-20 (NIV)

After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt and said,  “Get up, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child’s life are dead.”

Once again, the angel of the Lord provided direction through a dream and sent Joseph and his family to Nazareth, a safer place where Herod Antipas reigned.  There they began the next stage of their family life.  There are times in life when we want to settle down but our pathway winds through places that require flexibility and change.  We don’t understand the journey or the process, so we get discouraged.  Remember, God is leading you.  He knows each phase of your life and the lessons to be learned in each one.  As you look back over the various seasons of your life, can you trace God’s guiding hand?  You can be sure He has purpose and provision for each phase.  One day you will look back with profound humility and deep gratitude for both the good and the difficult times through which He led you.  Pray today for those who are in a tough leg of their journey and need to be assured of God’s oversight and care.
