DAILY DEVOTIONS – WEDNESDAY JULY 1, 2020

II Corinthians 1:4 (NIV)  the God of all comfort,  who comforts us in all our troubles,  so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

There is a need for tenderheartedness in every follower of Jesus Christ.  We must not think we are above sin.  When we know our own weaknesses,  we will have a lot more grace toward others.  We have our own brand of temptations.  We are only able to comfort others out of the empathy we have received in our own struggles.  Anger does not help someone in their weakness.  It can be an expression of judgment.  We must commit to becoming a partner in the healing process rather than a judge—that is only God’s job.  Only He knows where a person’s weaknesses are rooted.  Only He knows the tipping point of a person’s temptations.  Only He knows the history,  the experiences,  the struggles and challenges of everyday life for the one who has failed.  Only He has power to judge righteously and provide wholeness and healing.  How tender is your heart?  Do you default to judgment and ridicule or tenderness?
