Christ’s ministry was holistic. He cared not only for the peoples’ spiritual needs but also for their practical needs. He cared about their hunger and their sicknesses. He knew these listeners had arranged their lives so they could hear Him teach for three days, but now their stomachs were growling and their bodies were growing weak. Let us understand the serious nature of our call to feed the hungry, house the homeless, and clothe the naked. It is the practical expression of Jesus’ love illustrated in scripture. Reflect His compassion in everything you do. Stay alert to those in need.
