DEVOTIONS – MONDAY NOVEMBER 11, 2019

Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)  They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;  they shall mount up with wings as eagles;  they shall run,  and not be weary;  and they shall walk,  and not faint.

“Weary and faint persons can face the difficulties of life when they live in God,  for they are renewed in their strength by the Creator’s limitless strength”  (Hayford Bible Handbook).  Patient waiting,  done in God’s presence,  produces quiet confidence.  He will trigger peace and strengthen our spirits when we sit at His feet and allow the Holy Spirit to hover over the sometimes-chaotic waters of our lives.  We must learn to bring our whole selves to the Lord and hold nothing back.  It is an important discipline,  worth learning but it takes practice.  Start with praise,  and then move to worship.  Invite the Holy Spirit to teach you how to empty out before Him your frustrations,  worries,  confusion,  and pain that accumulates throughout the day.  He will teach you and lead you into the joyful,  Spirit-filled life.
