Luke 10:41 (NIV) “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “You are worried and upset about many things.”
In our highly distracting world, so much comes at us. With too much going on all the time, it overwhelms the circuits. We must learn to narrow our focus and keep the “main thing” the main thing—applying effort toward that focus and letting other things go quantitatively to the bottom of the list. Too many things distracted Martha. Mary focused on the one important thing: Jesus. What are the two most important things you need to focus on in the next quarter: raising money, building a new program? Identify your one or two most important priorities, then relegate the rest as “not important,” or delegate them out. That narrowed focus will eliminate distractions and guide all your resources toward the few priorities. That will get you better results and put less taxation on your system. The stress will go down. Where is your focus today?
