We have spiritual capacity to discover God as we lean in, open the Bible, open our hearts, and invite the Holy Spirit to unpack the timeless truths recorded there. God’s breath lives on those pages. You’ll find yourself identifying with one of the characters in at least one of the many narratives as you identify with their failures and God’s faithfulness. Wisdom calls aloud…I will make you wise (Proverbs 1:20-23). God is leaning toward us (Heb. 1:1-2), reaching for us, and He has sent the Holy Spirit to guide us to Jesus (John 14:26) and into the wisdom and understanding available to us. When you feel overwhelmed, pray this prayer: Break open your words and let the light shine out to me.
