DEVOTIONS – THURSDAY OCTOBER 3, 2019

I Samuel 9:27 (NIV) –  When they reached the edge of town,  Samuel told Saul to send his servant on ahead.  After the servant was gone,  Samuel said,  “Stay here,  for I have received a special message for you from God.”

If we are to have a God-given ministry in the Word,  there will be times when we must get away from others and stand still long enough to hear from God.  “But when you pray,  go away by yourself,  shut the door behind you,  and pray to your Father in private.  Then your Father who sees everything,  will reward you”  (Matthew 6:6).  “When we spend time alone with God unobserved,  undistracted and undisturbed,  it brings a public reward in an impressive ministry that leaves its mark”  (John 7:46).  Those who wait for God receive revelations of things not perceived by the ears or seen by the eye  (Isaiah 64:4).  Have you learned how to still your soul and wait expectantly for the Lord,  no matter how long it takes?
