Acts 1:8a (NLT)  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.  And you will be my witnesses…

“The Holy Spirit is not:  some benevolent force field,  a renewable energy force,  a handy talisman,  or a finishing touch on our presentation.  The Holy Spirit IS:  the One who forms the mind of Christ in us,  the One who fills our lives and relationships with power,  the One who guides us into effective ministry,  the One who fills our mouths with the Lord’s words,  the One who opens the heart of the hearer,  and the One who leads us to venues of service”  (Earl Creps,  Off Road Disciplines).  Jesus commanded his disciples NOT to leave Jerusalem  “until the Father sends you the gift He promised” (Acts 1:4),  the gift of the Holy Spirit.  So why would we think we could accomplish anything of Kingdom value apart from Holy Spirit enablement?  Jesus said:  If a man remains in me and I in him,  he will bear much fruit;  apart from me you can do nothing (John 15:6).  Once we cross the line of faith,  we must learn to walk it out in every day life with the Holy Spirit at the helm.  Declare His Lordship over your life every day.  Lean into His wisdom and power.  Be filled with the Spirit.
