II Corinthians 9:11 (NIV)
You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
God blesses us so that we can be a blessing to others. There is a grace of giving, a spirit of generosity that marks maturing followers of Jesus Christ. They view all of life as a gift from God and everything they own as on loan from the Lord. They understand their responsibility to live with open hands of trust, not with fists clenched in fear. They have discovered the joy of trusting God to provide their needs and they expect the Lord to use them as a source of provision for others. God cares as much about our generosity as any other aspect of our Christian character. Live generously. Let God guide you in giving in greater ways than ever before. Enjoy the “grace of giving” for it is a joyful part of the Spirit-led life.
