DAILY DEVOTIONS – SATURDAY AUGUST 27, 2022

Genesis 3:1-6 (NIV)Rev. 12:9  …that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray.  He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.  Notice that Adam and Eve’s temptation came from outside of man.  “God did not introduce sin into the world.  Neither did He tempt man to sin.  Sin is an invasion of God’s perfect creation.  And this invasion had a personal source.”  Satan slithers stealthily along and whispers doubts in one’s mind…

DAILY DEVOTIONS – FRIDAY AUGUST 26, 2022

Genesis 2:18 (NIV)  The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone.  I will make a helper suitable for him.”   Here is the first  “NOT GOOD”  statement from God.  Of course, God’s purpose in creating woman and instituting marriage made possible the propagation of the race and the fulfillment of His command in 1:28.  But here we see that God’s main purpose for marriage was not sexual fulfillment or childbearing.  Rather, it was to…

DAILY DEVOTIONS – THURSDAY AUGUST 25, 2022

Genesis 2:15 (NIV)  The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.  God gave mankind intelligence and understanding.  Adam was not a low intelligence level, dumb animal ruled by instinct.  From the beginning he had a high level of intelligence—he named the animals.  And God gave him authority over the earth, told him about the provision for his needs and those of the other creatures, and gave…

DAILY DEVOTIONS – WEDNESDAY AUGUST 24, 2022

Genesis 2:7 (NLT)  Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground.  He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.  Mankind belongs not only to the physical but also the spiritual world.  Our environment is not just earth now and heaven later.  We live in the overlapping of the two realms.  In this respect we are different from the animals and also from the angels.  To really…
