OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe…

…the Scriptures are inspired by God and declare God’s plan for humankind. They are authoritative and infallible in all they intend to teach.

…there is one true God, revealed in three persons…Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

…in the full deity and full humanity of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, as proclaimed in Scripture.

…every person is separated from God by sin and can have restored fellowship with God by repenting and receiving Christ’s offer of forgiveness, provided through his substitutionary death on the cross.

…sanctification (the process of becoming more Christ-like) is the work of the Holy Spirit. It begins at salvation and continues throughout a believer’s life as validated by the Fruit of the Spirit.

…in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, which occurs when a believer invites the indwelling Spirit to empower him/her for mission. This baptism is often evidenced by phenomena in the believer’s life (e.g., new boldness in proclaiming the gospel, accompanying miraculous works, speaking in other languages) as the Holy Spirit enables.

…prayer (dialogue between God and humankind) is a necessary part of the faithful life of every believer. Prayer promotes intimacy with God and cooperates with God’s intervention in the world, including God’s supernatural provision of physical and mental healing.

…in practicing two Biblical ordinances: (1) Water Baptism by immersion following conversion and (2) Holy Communion (the Lord’s Supper) as commemoration of the death of Jesus and a celebration of his presence.

…the ‘Church,’ both local and universal, is the Body of Christ and consists of all who, through the ages, have been redeemed by God. The local church has been commissioned by Christ to proclaim, through word and deed, the good news of salvation to all the world.

…one day Christ will return to judge all people. The wicked will be separated from God while the redeemed will spend eternity with God.
