Exodus 3:14-15 God said to Moses, “I Am who I Am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.” God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.”
When Moses objected to God’s call by asking, “What shall I say?” (vs. 13), God answered him: “Say…I AM has sent me unto you.” A simple declaration of the facts, without explanation, was to be Moses’ manner of informing others of his divine appointment. As we go about fulfilling our mission to take the truth of Jesus to people everywhere, we don’t have to go into all the complicated details of our calling, we just need to point people to Jesus.
