There is a School of Rest. Obedience to God is not only expressed by consecrated activity, but also by ceasing from the efforts of self; and devotion is not only expressed by serving, but also by sitting in active contemplation and quiet worship. “There remains therefore a rest to the people of God” (Heb. 4:9) such as: rest from works (Heb 3:7-4:11), rest in devotion (Luk3 10:38-42; II Sam. 7:18); and rest in unrest (Psa. 37:1-7; Mark 4:35-41).
