Isaiah 55:3 (NIV) Give ear and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live…
This passage speaks of spiritual poverty and thirst (vs. 1). We live such hectic lives that all too often we overlook our deep inner hunger for God. We forget how much we need Him. We invest so much of our time and energy in things that do not have eternal value. God invites us to come empty handed to His table of provision. There is no cost to us, because Christ paid for the meal with His own blood on the cross. Don’t miss a meal at Christ’s table! It overflows with “soul food:” affirmation, appreciation, unconditional love, wisdom, purpose and destiny, understanding, peace and so much more. Jesus wants to satisfy your deepest hunger and gratify your strongest thirst with food and drink from His own table. Don’t miss a meal. Come daily to His table. “He prepares a table before me…” (Psalm 23).
