Matthew 1:22 (NIV)
All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet…
If we believe that God can create a man out of the dust of the earth, and if we believe that God can create a woman out of the side of a man, and if we believe that God can enable a man and woman who are past the age of childbearing to conceive and give birth to a healthy child, then why can’t we believe that God could implant the second person of the Trinity into the womb of a woman? There is an effort to explain away the miraculous parts of the Bible in an attempt to de-mythologize the miracle passages so that they become more comprehensible to finite minds. But then, who gets to make the choices as to what we do believe and what we don’t believe? If we don’t believe in the inspiration of the scriptures then we have no “Word of God” as a rule for life and conduct. Everything about life with God is miraculous and the finite mind cannot fully comprehend it apart from faith and the Holy Spirit’s revelation. Are you learning how to “walk by faith” (II Cor. 5:7)?
