Revelation 1:8 (NIV) “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
When you come to the end of yourself, the end of all your best self-efforts, THAT is the place where you can find Jesus. He is the Alpha and Omega—the beginning and end of all things. He was there all the time waiting patiently in line for your attention, your ear, your heart. It is our natural tendency to work hard to build something for God, to use our giftedness to impact the world in positive ways, to use our talents and abilities to help others in need. But the discipline we must prioritize is to come to the Lord first and get His guidance in how best to partner with what He wants to do. His view of best strategies is far higher and wider than ours (Isaiah 55:9). Ask yourself, “What does God want in this situation? What does He see that I don’t see?” Trust the Holy Spirit.
