Genesis 2:15 (NIV) The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
God gave mankind intelligence and understanding. Adam was not a low intelligence level, dumb animal ruled by instinct. From the beginning he had a high level of intelligence—he named the animals. And God gave him authority over the earth, told him about the provision for his needs and those of the other creatures, and gave him physical and intellectual work and moral responsibility. God cares about our physical welfare. He provides for our needs. He does not want us to be bored and purposeless. We cannot be fully happy without some responsibility. There is joy in achievement as we work with God. What are you doing that energizes you, engages your gift mix, and gives you joy?
