John 11: 43 (NLT) Then Jesus shouted, “Lazarus, come out!”
This was the voice of command. It was the same voice that told the wind and waves: Peace, be still (Mark 4:39). It was the voice that said “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3; John 1:3). It is the voice that speaks to our hearts today. “Don’t be afraid. I am with you.” Do you hear it? “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me (John 10:27). As you read your Bible, do the words jump off the page and into your heart? As you listen to the sermon, does your heart welcome its truth? As you gather to worship, do you hear the Voice calling you to celebrate with all your heart? If Jesus’ voice is powerful enough to raise the dead, we ought to be listening well.
