Philippians 4:6-9 (NIV) Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Paul gives us the answer to overcoming worry. Pray, with thanksgiving, over every concern. He doesn’t expect us to pretend that we don’t have problems; but He wants us to use our energy to give thanks in spite of them. We commit setbacks to the Lord and trust Him to help us make them right. Have you learned to capture fearful thoughts and turn them into faith-filled petitions for God’s intervention? Our prayers should reflect confidence in God’s faithful character. He wants us to trade our fears for His peace. Are you willing to make that exchange?
