Matthew 1:23 (NIV) The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel”—which means, “God with us.”
The Bible is a book filled with remarkable narratives. A snake talks to a woman (Eve). A man builds a boat and save the animals of the world from a flood (Noah). The second half begins with another remarkable story—the Christmas story. A virgin conceives a child. It would all seem quite impossible to believe if we did not believe in a supernatural God. Christ’s birth stands in a category all its own. It has never happened that way ever before, and it never will. The Holy Spirit brought deity and humanity together, forever united in one person. This Christmas week, ponder the many miracles of the Christmas story. We serve a mighty God.
