Genesis 26: (NIV) The Lord appeared to Isaac and said, “Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land where I tell you to live. Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham.
God’s promises extended to Isaac when he followed in his father’s footsteps of faith. There is a principle of blessing that stretches from one generation into another as each chooses to embrace the life of faith. Each successive generation that makes the choice to follow Jesus establishes a stronger and stronger lineage. Each can build on the spiritual insights and rich heritages of its fathers and mothers, discover increased blessings in the Lord, and can accomplish much for Kingdom purposes. Bring your children to church regularly, have family devotions, share your personal stories of God’s faithfulness. Make sure they know the Biblical narratives and memorize scripture. Give them a good foundation in faith.
