Hebrews 4:14 (NIV) Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.
The writer of Hebrews wrote to encourage the persecuted new believers who faced such hardships that they wondered if their faith in Jesus Christ was worth it. When life hits us with crushing blows and there seems to be no answer, Hebrews reminds us that Jesus is our advocate. He knows what you are dealing with and He prays for us—He intercedes at the Father’s right hand. That’s what He does; but we must do something also: hold unswervingly to the hope we profess (10:23). New levels of faith are forged in the crucible of hard trials. We learn how to make choices that anchor us in the truth of God’s trustworthy word. Some seasons of life are far more difficult than others. Keep your eyes on Jesus (12:2). He knows the challenges, purpose, and the way through each hardship.
