Hebrews 10:22 (NIV) …let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith….
When life tries to beat us down with discouragement there are things that we can do. Hebrews is replete with “let us” phrases meant to teach us how to rightly respond to hardships. Do you draw near to God or isolate yourself? What is your default coping skill? Is it helpful or does it make things worse? Have you learned how to tuck up under His “wing” and take shelter under His oversight and care (Ps. 91:4)? Our assurance must be rooted in His omnipotent abilities. Your job is to guard your heart in full assurance of faith—identify the fear-inducing lies of the enemy who tries to build strongholds in your mind. Keep the truth of God’s Word central: His truth shall be your shield and buckler – Psa. 91:4.
