I Peter 2:9 (NIV) – But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God…
Did you know that 42% of women surveyed by Nancy DeMoss indicated that they had believed the lie: “I’m not worth anything”? “Our view of ourselves and our sense of worth are often determined by the input and opinions of others.” The words “stupid” or “fat” get locked into our brains, and instead of countering the lies with truth, we withdraw and live in the shadow of those lies. We become driven by the need to gain the approval of others. Criticism devastates us because we let others determine our worth. God’s Word is the only reliable source for determining our worth. He valued our souls as worthy of Christ’s death. Whose opinion will you accept? You are the “elect of God, holy and beloved” (Col. 3:12).
