Psalm 19:1 (NLT) The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display His craftsmanship.
A remarkable interdependency exists between everything in the universe. Vegetation depends on sun and soil and water. Streams flow into rivers and oceans. Animals depend upon nature’s multiple food sources. People depend upon wood for fire. Without sufficient rain, crops die. An intricate balance exists that gives us compelling evidence for God’s existence and is known as the cosmological argument. The cosmos, this orderly, harmonious system of the universe, must have had a first cause (ultimate source). Hebrews 3:4, “God is the builder of everything.” Colossians 1:17, God “holds all creation together.” It is a “complex universe with a definite order and design that could not have possibly happened by chance.” There must have been intelligent design behind it—with purpose, and order (Psalm 94:4; Psalm 19:1-2; Psalm 8:3-4). God not only sustains the universe, but also you and me (Acts 17:28 – In Him we live and move and have our being). Give thanks.
