II Corinthians 12:9a (NIV) …”My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
This has played out in my life on multiple occasions: when standing in the pulpit in another country dazed from jet lag and somehow able to preach with a heavy anointing; when my schedule on a day that ended in teaching was so full that I had no time to do a final run-though of my lesson, and somehow I was able to lean back into the Holy Spirit’s power and connect with an online audience in ways I had never experienced before; when going into a counseling appointment without all the facts with someone crumbling under raw emotion and Jesus stepped into the room with divine wisdom and discernment and comforted a wounded heart—these are the times when God’s strength is made perfect in our weaknesses. When entering an MRI machine, and the Holy Spirit brings a praise song to mind that releases fear and delivers calm assurance to the soul—how faithful is our God to deliver His power to us in times of weakness! How about you? Give thanks for His strength in our weaknesses. May Christ’s power rest on us! Amen.
