Romans 12:2 (NIV) Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind….
The thought processes of the renewed mind are based on a new point of reference (Isaiah 55:7-9). Transformed thinking involves: 1) refusing to allow our thinking to be patterned after those who don’t know God; 2) enlightenment by the Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:17-18); 3) surrendering our bodies to God’s demands in order to enable the Spirit to accomplish His renewing within us; and 4) recognizing that it will bring us into conflict with those whose thinking is diametrically opposite to that of God. Are you ready for transformed thinking?

The daily devotions challenge and encourage me. When multiple scripture references are provided, I am able to expand my understanding of the focus of the devotional message. Today’s message challenges me especially as I think about the last point. Being in conflict with anyone is not what I seek. Recognizing that I will be in conflict with those whose thinking is diametrically opposite to that of God helps me to realize that while I must remain humble, do justly, and walk in love, I am not to cave into the pressure from others just to be accepted – whether the pressure is in the form of fashion, leisure, entertainment, politics, or any other realm.
It’s a lot to consider….
