Genesis 12:1 (MSG) God told Abram: “Leave your country, your family, and your father’s home for a land that I will show you.”
God is always taking us someplace new. The Bible narratives are replete with journey stories—people moving from here to there, launching out, exploring, expanding, and inspired to growth. Abraham departed Ur in obedience to God’s call. Jesus left Heaven to come rescue us. When it is a “God thing,” there is always purpose involved with new levels of growth and development ahead. But it always involves fresh surrender and trust. Have you learned to say “yes” to God? Do you live in an attitude of “yes”? If not, you will miss His instructions, His insights, and His presence. “There are no small obediences. Every yes further ingrains one’s heart with the character of Jesus.” Living in obedience is a courageous way of life. “It requires gutsy faith to believe that God is at work in everything.” Learn to say “yes” every day to God.
