Joshua 1:3 (NIV) (The Lord to Joshua) “I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.”
The Children of Israel had to do something—to participate in the process of “going in” to their Promised Land. They had to partner with God and “WALK IT OUT” in very practical ways, not sit and wait for God to do everything for them. Together with the Lord’s guidance, they would take possession of everything the Lord had promised to them. Sometimes we must take a prayer walk. We conquer the things that hold us back from our “Promised Land” by daily walking out our faith, putting one step in front of the other and claiming God’s promises rather than shrinking back in fear or expecting God to do all the work for us. “I will give you…where you set your foot.” Is crippling fear holding you back from becoming all you can be? Of course, God can deliver you from fear. But have you considered working with a spiritual director or Godly counselor to uncover the root of that fear? You do what is possible and leave the impossible to up to God. That is a partnership that leads to an overcoming life.
