God is righteous and just. The scriptures use the words righteous and righteousness over 500 times and the terms just and justice another 100 times—mostly referring to God. This underscores the truth that we don’t have to be afraid that God will act in an unfair way. When He gets involved in a person’s life, He is fair and righteous. Furthermore, God upholds those who live uprightly and helps them when they suffer oppression by judging the oppressors (Ps. 72:2-4; 94:14-23). He saves those who turn to Him as Savior (Isaiah 45:21). Jesus called Him “Righteous Father” (John 17:25). Daniel said, “…the Lord our God is righteous in everything He does” (Dan. 9:14). Trust Him.
