II Kings 6:16 (NIV) “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
The enemy had surrounded the city and the prophet Elisha’s servant was terrified. But Elisha calmly reassured him. He prayed the simple prayer, “O Lord, open his eyes so he may see” (vs. 17). Suddenly, Elisha’s servant saw a multitude of heavenly hosts. The enemy was neutralized, and Israel gained a great victory without even fighting a battle. We need our eyes to be opened so that we can see the spiritual realities behind the events of our day. A spiritual battle rages and at times it seems we will be overcome. But God has provided victory for us. What is the challenge that terrifies you? Pray and ask the Lord to open your eyes so that you can see what He sees.
