I Corinthians 1:18-25 (NIV) (focus verse 25) For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.
Paul teaches us that Christ followers and non-Christ followers are SO DIFFERENT in their thinking concerning spiritual matters. “What is wisdom to one is foolishness to others because the mind of the person who does not follow Christ has not undergone the transformation by regeneration that the Christ follower has experienced” (I Cor. 2:14-16; II Tim. 1:7). God’s method of working and manner of thinking is NOT necessarily consonant with classical methods and textbook rules (Joshua 6:1-20 –the Jericho narrative). His working and thinking are NOT necessarily consonant with human expectations (I Sam. 16:1-13 – the choice of David). God does not necessarily follow orthodox means and standard equipment (I Sam. 17:38-50); nor does He necessarily follow rules of protocol (Matt. 20:25-27) or religious traditions (Mark 7i:3, 10-13), or popular opinion (II Tim. 3:13-16) or ecclesiastical prejudices (John 4:9). What wisdom there is in God! Reach for it.
