Mark 1:22 (NLT) The people were amazed at His teaching, for He taught with real authority—quite unlike the teachers of religious law.
Jesus had the spiritual authority and the right as the Creator to liberate people from demonic power (Luke 4:18) and people noticed that. He taught in a way that caused crowds to respond. People sought Him out for healing. News of his arrival in town caused people to drop what they were doing and go to hear his teaching. And Jesus responded to those hopeful hearts. He worked late into the night healing those with various diseases (1:29-34). As we follow Christ and chose to live under His authority, we can take comfort in knowing that He will be proactive in the oversight of our souls. He is the “author and finisher of our faith” (Heb. 12:2). You can trust Him with your heart.
