Romans 8:1 (Passion Translation) So now the case is closed. There remains no accusing voice of condemnation against those who are joined in life-union with Jesus, the Anointed One.
Guilt and condemnation are life-draining toxicities that the enemy leverages against us in an effort to derail us from our God-given calling. When we crossed the line of faith in Jesus, we were immediately “rescued from the kingdom of darkness and transferred into the Kingdom of His dear Son” (Col. 1:13). No longer does sin have dominion over us as we daily “join in life-union with Jesus.” God does not accuse us. Satan is the “accuser” (Rev. 12:10). First he tempts us to sin, then he accuses us to ourselves, to one another, and to God. He tries to convince us that our new-found faith is a farse. But “if any man sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ” (I John 2:1). Jesus pulls us back up onto our feet and inspires us toward new levels of steadfast faith. Don’t let a condemning voice vex you. Jesus said, “You are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you” (John 15:3 KJV). “Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you” (John 15:4 MSG). Jesus doesn’t give up on us so easily. Don’t heed the condemning voice.
