Can we even begin to understand the power of intercessory prayer by someone who has influence with God? Read the stories of great prayer warriors like Rees Howells (read: Rees Howells: Intercessor, by Norman Grubb). His ministry of intercession during the rise of Adolf Hitler and the outbreak of World War II will challenge you to profound levels of spiritual impact. We must not watch passively on the sidelines as the world sinks into depravity. We must engage in the kind of prayer that pushes back the spiritual darkness in people’s lives and in our culture. Jesus challenges us to be effective (John 15:16, 23) in our prayers. Study intercession. Let the Holy Spirit lead you into greater efficacy.
