Nehemiah 4:6 – (NIV) So we rebuilt the wall till all of it reached half its height, for the people worked with all their heart.
Nehemiah’s remarkable leadership skills included: discretion (2:12), for he did not make a premature disclosure of his plans; wisdom (2:13-17) for he appraised the situation before taking action; resoluteness and fearlessness (2:19-20), due to his faith in God’s oversight; and leadership skills and organization ability (3:1-32). Notice how the people worked wholeheartedly. It was not Nehemiah’s project alone—it was their project as well. When all the members of the Body of Christ come together to serve in our Spirit-assigned locations, God is best able to accomplish His work in this world (I Cor. 12). Where do you serve on “the wall”? What job has God assigned to you? Serve with all your heart.
