[Philippians 4:7] And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
You’ll know when you’ve been brought under a lie of Satan when: 1) you are restless (filled with negative and anxiety-inducing thoughts that he inspires); or 2) you feel continuously unworthy and inadequate (that accusing voice in your ear constantly); or 3) you feel exhausted and overwhelmed all the time and unable to find a place of peace and quiet and rest in the Lord. Yet there is another tactic: he sings a lullaby over us so that we go to sleep and become unaware of spiritual realities as we bask in self-soothing pleasures of life. Are we alert to all the various ways that our enemy tries to subvert us so that we are not living “strong in the Lord and the power of His might”—so that we are not a threat to him and his kingdom? We must live aware ”…let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” (Heb. 12:1)
