I John 3:23 (NIV) And this is His command: to believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as He commanded us.
How do we love one another as Jesus commanded? Consider how Jesus treated his traitor disciple Judas, or his doubting disciple Thomas, or his betraying disciple Peter. Consider how He hung on the cross and prayed, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34) while the soldiers gambled for his clothes. How do we become carriers of such love? Invite the Holy Spirit to take you into His “classroom.” Be willing to learn…quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry (James 1:19). We must learn how to love.
