I John 1:9 (NIV) If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
We live in a fallen world filled with imperfect people. But God gives us a plan. It starts with naming the sin—calling it what it is through confession. We must be willing to admit our guilt, be truly sorry and willing to surrender our pride (no excuses). We must be willing to change our ways with Christ’s help. THEN, we can have connection. The role of the Church is to be a conduit for repentance and forgiveness and to provide a safe place for hurting people. It is to be a place where nobody is “alone” and a place where transparency is modeled.
