Joshua 5:13-15 (focus verse 14 – NIV)
…as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come…
Joshua saw the preincarnate Jesus (a Christophany: Jesus sighting in the Old Testament). He wanted Joshua to know that this was the LORD’S battle—not Joshua’s battle. We do well to remember that God does not serve us. We are enlisted in HIS battle strategies. Remember: the battle is the Lord’s.
