DAILY DEVOTIONS – MONDAY AUGUST 8, 2022

Exodus 3:10 (NLT)

(God to Moses) “Now go, for I am sending you to Pharaoh.  You must lead my people Israel out of Egypt.

T.D. Jakes says:  “We need a vision that is so big we have to be careful who we tell it to!”  Leaders see the  “God-thing”  out there on the horizon and inspire the people to walk toward it.  Leaders see more than the here and now.  They think deeply enough to move beyond the space in which they currently stand.  But it is scary stuff.  T.D. Jakes says, “When we are petrified we are also electrified!”  Moses was just plain petrified; so he resisted his calling to the point of making God angry (4:34).  He remembered his false start back in Egypt when he killed an Egyptian in an effort to bring justice.  Now God was sending him back with an assignment so big that we’d be talking about it to this day.  “It doesn’t matter where you start,”  T.D. Jakes says.  “It matters where you finish.”  Have you had a few bad experiences with big dreams and false starts?  Maybe you applied a big idea in the wrong place and failed.  Every leader experiences failure.  Don’t let that stop you.  Learn from it.  God calls us to lead people out of bondage (Luke 4:18).  Quit resisting.  Go for it!
